Welcome to
Noeun Sola Reformed Baptist Church.

Our Name

We are a church located in the Noeun district of Yuseong, Daejeon. The Korean word “Hana” in our name means “only,” corresponding to the Latin word sola. We seek to uphold the congregational, covenantal, and confessional faith handed down to us through the Reformation and our Baptist forebears. For this reason, the official name of our church is Noeun Sola Reformed Baptist Church.

This congregation exists as an autonomous local church under no authority other than the Lord Jesus Christ alone, who is our only Mediator, our Prophet, Priest, and King, and the Head and Savior of the church.

Our Purpose

As members of one body, we seek to encourage the worship of the Triune God and to proclaim to all people faith in Christ alone and repentance toward God. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we devote ourselves to the kingdom of Christ, the apostles’ teaching, prayer, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, love for one another, and the care of our brothers and sisters, including sharing in their sufferings. In this way, our church exists to glorify the one true and living Triune God and to bear witness to the ends of the earth to God’s saving purpose through the Lord Jesus Christ, who is righteous, risen from the dead, and reigning.

We also desire to recognize the calling of the Holy Spirit in the lives of faithful men, and to train, examine, and appoint them as church officers or church planters. As God gives us opportunity, we seek to unite with and help establish Reformed Baptist churches, both in Korea and abroad, that share the same precious faith. We are committed to doing our utmost to provide financial support for church planters and missionaries, local pastors, and other ministers who are devoted to promoting Reformed Baptist theology and practice in accordance with the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith.

Standard of faith

Our congregation is governed according to two kinds of standards. Our supreme standard is the Word of God alone, which is the wholly sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience. The Holy Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are our ultimate authority in every matter of theology and practice.

Our subordinate standards are the ecumenical creeds of the early church—the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Chalcedonian Creed—as well as the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689), the Baptist Catechism associated with Benjamin Keach, and the Constitution of our church. These documents can never replace Scripture. Rather, they set forth our understanding of the biblical teaching concerning doctrine and practice. We believe that these subordinate standards faithfully and accurately interpret and apply the teaching of Scripture with respect to our doctrine and church order.
