"...so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God.

This house is the church of the living God,

the pillar and foundation of truth.

Great is the mystery of godliness, and no one can deny it .

Our church teaches and studies the truths contained in the ecumenical creeds of the early church—the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed—which faithfully summarize the basic truths of the Christian faith.

Creeds and confessions have served throughout church history as markers that help identify who we are. In themselves, they provide a framework for summarizing the major truths of Scripture. Because they are not inspired as Scripture is, they can never replace the Word of God. Rather, they help us teach and learn what Scripture says about who God is, what He has done, and who we are.

They also unite the universal, or catholic, church through a common confession and provide identifying marks by which churches throughout the world may be recognized. In this way, they offer a standard by which the church may be guarded and protected from false teaching. They also help us grow in our knowledge of God and His Word and encourage us to pursue faithful lives as disciples of Christ.
